Clinical Trials for Growth Hormone Deficiency

We are conducting two clinical trials, sponsored by a major pharmaceutical company, to treat children with growth hormone deficiency. The purpose of these trials is to test the safety and effectiveness of a form of growth hormone given once a week. compared to standard daily human growth hormone (hGH) replacement therapy in children with growth hormone deficiency. Currently, there are several human growth hormone preparations on the market, all of which need to be administered daily. For these trials, we are requesting referrals of children, boys ages 3-12 years and girls ages 3-11 years, who have short stature and have growth hormone deficiency. For the first trial we are seeking children who have not yet received growth hormone treatment (Growth hormone naïve subjects). We have completed enrollment in this trial for 3 children, but could enroll additional subjects.

Qualified participants will receive:

  • Health assessments including height, weight and blood pressure, as well as all necessary blood tests and xrays
  • Once-weekly injections of TransCon hGH or daily injections of Genotropin, randomly assigned, at no cost for 52 weeks.
  • Possible reimbursement for any reasonable travel or hotel expenses to attend a trial visit
  • If your child successfully completes the treatment, they may be invited to continue to participate in an extension trial.

We are also conducting a second trial for children who may be currently receiving growth hormone treatment. This includes subjects up to the age of 17 years. This is a multicenter phase 3, open-label, 26-week trial of weekly TransCon hGH in children 6 months to 17 years old, inclusive, with GHD.

Similar to the previous trial :

Qualified participants will receive:

  • Health assessments including height, weight and blood pressure, as well as all necessary blood tests and xrays
  • Once-weekly injections of TransCon hGH, at no cost for 26 weeks.
  • Possible reimbursement for any reasonable travel or hotel expenses to attend a trial visit
  • If your child successfully completes the treatment, they may be invited to continue to participate in an extension trial.
